Outfit

This is one of my favourite outfits at the moment; I especially love the classic red and white colour combination and I adore the shape of my new white dress which I posted here. I can't believe that my last three outfit posts have involved this red cardigan. It just goes to show how incredibly versatile it is; I honestly don't think there is a single item in my wardrobe that I wouldn't wear it with. There will most certainly be some more variety in my next outfit post I promise. The weather was reasonably warm on the day I had these photos taken. Although it was too cold to wear the dress without a cardigan, it wasn't completely freezing for the photos of just the dress either; very impressive for winter I do say! I am definitely starting to enjoy Wednesdays lately. It generally consists of a sleep in, a relaxing lunch and walk around the shops with Rydog, some picture taking for my blog, the occassional trip to the gym, dinner with the family, a good night of television and a new blog post. Of course spending time with Juliette Miracle makes it enjoyable too.

Yesterday I bought my wedding ring; the decision to purchase it so early was a result of the end of financial year sale. It is matching to my engagement ring; it is very pretty and sparkly. Also, my friend who lives in Hong Kong just booked her plane tickets for my wedding. The combination of these two events this week have made the wedding suddenly seem so incredibly real. It's interesting how it seemed far away but within a couple of days it now appears so close.

Outfit

On Wednesday I finally had the chance to take some outfit pictures. It was perfect weather for photos. I decided to wear my Portmans dress that I posted here. I've worn this dress many times lately because I love it so much. I also noticed the other day that this dress comes in black. The red suits my style a little better but the black was very beautiful too; I wish I could have both!  Since it was cold (despite the pictures it is still the middle of winter) I paired the dress with my Alannah Hill cardigan. I've had this cardigan for awhile and it is one of the most versatile pieces ever. I also thought it would be a good opportunity to show you my fan clutch which I posted here. It's definitely my favourite bag at the moment. Since it has gold glitter I decided it would go well with the gold butterfly in my hair. My sister tells me the butterfly is ridiculous and she continually reminds me that I am 23 and not 5. But I like it and growing up is overrated anyway. Her comments make me laugh. I'm going to wear it next weekend when we go out for dinner just to annoy her.

On Wednesday Rydog and I had our first day off together in a long time. Rydog has been extremely busy with work and I've had so many essays to write. Unfortunately our day didn't go quite as planned. We had to get the car serviced and that took 7 hours; we couldn't go anywhere until late afternoon. It was still fun; we managed to have a quick look around the shops and take these pictures. The price of the car service was astronomical; it has really set us back financially. This, coupled with other expenses have made me worried; we are moving out at the end of the year so saving is absolutely fundamental right now. So I have decided I will not be buying any more new clothes for a long time. I know I've said that before but this time I mean it because there is no choice anymore. Fortunately I have many clothes, some of which I have not yet worn so it shouldn't be too hard initially. But it will be hard in other ways; I'm so used to just buying clothes without really thinking about it. I am going to try and be more creative with my clothes and mix and match a lot more than I have in the past.

It has been a good week technology wise. I have my computer back. It has been repaired and is working very well. I also found my camera which had been missing for months. The colours in my photos seem to be richer in comparison with phone photos.

I'd always wanted to take blog pictures on a road; I was so excited that I finally had the opportunity to do that. I always admire photos that are taken on the road or on train tracks. One day I might build up the courage at enter the middle of the road.

Purchases

I handed in my final assignment for the term at university this morning so now I am free for the next six weeks. I couldn't be happier about this; the last few weeks were very intense and I'm not even sure how I got through them. I definitely need a break right now. This will be my last long holiday ever. When I finish my law degree at the end of the year I won't be able to completely relax for the  summer holiday as I have every other year. I will have to get a proper job for experience in the legal industry and to earn money because Rydog and I are moving out at the end of the year and will have many expenses. Although I have hated every moment of university it makes me sad that the long holidays  associated with being a student are almost over for me. It is important to enjoy this break. It reminds me that my life is going to be changing in so many ways in the near future.

In true blogger style, I came straight to my blog as soon as I'd handed in my assignment. A new post was at the top of my agenda. But since I still have no opportunities to take outfit pictures, that sort of post will have to wait until later in the week. In the meantime I thought I'd show you some of my recent purchases. Many of them were an attempt to motivate myself to study. If that's whats needed to pass a law degree then that's ok, right?!?!

Dotti  Lace Contrast Skater Dress
The main reason I decided to buy this dress was because of the low back; I know you can't tell from the photos but it actually has a deep v at the back. I am aways drawn to clothes with interesting backs. Plus I love lace. This dress came in three different colours; green & blue, green and white & coral. I went for green & blue because I thought it was the most classy and I already have a green lace dress.

Glassons  Ponti Skater Dress
I bought this dress today. For many years I haven't really liked white but recently I love it again. The fresh and clean look of a structured white dress is very desireable. I'd been searching for a white dress with great difficulty until I came across this one. I hope it will be one of the more verstaile pieces in my wardrobe. I often find black dull and boring so I thought this kind of neutral item was exactly what I needed.

Alannah Hill My Sinking Soul Cardigan
This is one of my favourite and most worn items right now. I love the red and blue together and the detailed sparkly buttons are amazing. The cherries are the sweetest ever. I also adore this cardigan because it is 100% wool; it's so comfortable and warm.  P1010133

Alannah Hill I'm Out of My Mind Cardigan
I fell in love with this cardigan the moment I saw it. I knew it was an item I had to own. I think it's because of the sweet glitter AH which can be a representation of how much I love Alannah Hill. Of course the sparkle and the silver pretty buttons are very special too.

Forever New Fan Clutch
This is the first clutch bag I've ever owned. It was just too adorable and unique to pass up and at only $15 it was a bargain. Again the glitter is very exciting and adds to any outfit. I've already had many compliments on this bag. Plus my friend Izzy has the same one!

Alannah Hill She Kissed Everyone Jumper
Another red item to add to my wardrobe! I mainly bought this jumper for its versatility; it looks good over most of my dresses and with a range of skirts. My favourite aspects are the bows (which are excitingly made of velvet) and the sweet little cut outs.

That's all for now!

Item of the Week 021

It's been a long time since I've posted Item of the Week; I must get back into this feature. Today I am featuring this beautiful and amazing dress that I received as a gift on Saturday. My mother in law bought it for me in the Portmans sale. I love it so much. It reminds me very much of Alannah Hill style. I adore the sweet little detailing, the colour and the fit. I like the wool component especially because I don't have dresses with this material. I'm looking forward to wearing it for the first time; hopefully I can wear it to a birthday lunch today but it's supposed to only be fifteen degrees celcius. It was such a wonderful surprise to receive this dress especially at a time when my life is very boring; I've had so many essays to write for university lately that nothing fun or exciting has happened for weeks. It brightened my day so much.
I'm part way through university exam period at the moment. I have all take home exams and final essays rather than formal sit down exams which, in general, I find much more stressful. A total of 11 000 words is not very fun. But I am slowly getting through it. I am proud of myself for getting this far especially since I never expected to make it to fifth year of a law degree. I am currently working on my third assignment out of four. It's going to be a busy week but the holidays are only a week away.

Wishlist: 4 Cardigans

Wishlist: 4 Cardigans
Since cardigans are one of my ultimate obssessions I thought it would be appropriate to make them the subject of my next wishlist. I'm aware that I haven't offered much variety in my wishlists so far but when it comes to cardigans Alannah Hill, in my opinion, is unrivalled. If finances permit, it is Alannah Hill all the way! I also adore the quality; many of her cardigans are 100% wool which I rarely find in other stores. Above all, I love the rush of excitment I feel when I purchase one of these beautiful, girly items from the shops. Here are my favourite four (that I don't already own).

Alannah Hill You Sweet Tweet Cardigan
This cardigan is even more stunning in real life than in the photos. I almost bought it recently in the sales but they didn't have my size. I was contemplating purchasing it in the size up but I decided against it since a tight fit is important to me. It was very sad! I love the floral pattern. That is an aspect that I am incapable of replicating in my own customisation project since it is printed onto the cardigan. I also love the detailing of the little jewels. So sweet. The buttons are incredible and make such a statement. This is the perfect cardigan!

Alannah Hill- All The Real Girls Cardi
I love the flowers on this cardigan; they are so pretty and beautiful. The changing colour gradient is very cool too and I think it works well against the navy blue background. My mother in law showed me how to sew the little flowers onto this sort of cardigan but I am very bad at it. It will take a lot more practice before I am able to replicate this; one day I hope to own this sort of cardigan.

Alannah Hill- I'm On Strike Cardi
What is there not to love about stripes? I could never have too many stripes in my wardrobe. At the moment pink and green is one of my favourite colour combinations and I think it works well with the black too. This cardigan would be very versatile; I can already think of a range of skirts and jeans that this would work well with.  The green jewel like buttons are really lovely too.

It's The Fame Game Cardi
To me, this is the ultimate girly girl cardigan! It's so pink and that is why I love it. I believe this cardigan reflects my style perfectly. With so much pink, an oversized bow and pretty sparkly detailing, what more could I possibly want in a cardigan? Again, this cardigan is much more stunning and gorgeous in real life than in the pictures. It is extremely special. I would be exstatically happy if I was ever so lucky to own this cardigan.

Outfit

Hi everyone! How are you? I hope you are having a much better week than I am. I've run into some bad luck this week. On Tuesday I burnt my legs by sitting too close to the heater all day at work. I was absolutely freezing so there was almost no distance between me and the fan heater. So many people have asked me why I didn't notice what was happening. I seriously didn't. It felt hot but not to the point of burning and since I had been so cold beforehand I liked it warmer than usual. Yes, I am very silly for allowing this to happen. IIt seems very obvious now. 'll never be doing that again. My legs are much better even in just the couple of days since it happened. But seriously, it was so painful and my ankles were really puffy too. Worst experience! Then on Wednesday my computer decided to stop working. It won't turn on and we believe there is a hardware problem. This is the worst possible time for my computer to break down. With four final essays to write and only three weeks of semester left, the timing is just so cruel. I just can't believe this has happened. Why me? and why now? It's going to take weeks to repair; the semester will probably be over by then. Fortunately my mother in law has saved my life but allowing me to borrow her laptop for the next few weeks. This has really impacted me and I've felt pretty sad about it lately. Anyway, enough of my ranting...

On Tuesday it was Rydog's birthday and we went out for dinner.I bought him a leather jacket, a pink tie, gym shoes and a miniture guitar ornament. Since I didn't see him much on Tuesday (we both had work), we decided to take some time off on Wednesday together. This is what I wore.It was too cold to wear this dress without a cardigan; I just took my cardigan off for the photos. I bought the dress in a recent Dangerfield sale for a very good price. I really wanted to buy it in red instead but they were out of my size; although my mum tells me blue is much better because I look like Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz. The red cardigan is an item I wear with so many different outfits in my wardrobe; it is incredibly versatile. These are my favourite flats right now too.
